This is Rebecca Chandy's daughter writing. My mother passed away suddenly on February 13th at around 5 in the evening. It's true she was 89 years old (her 90th birthday would have been on May 17th) but she was young at heart. She had got some new pictures to put up on the blog and had promised me that she would write something in a notebook to go with the pictures. All not to be. So this is the last post in this blog.

I'm so sorry to hear this. I really admired this techno savvy grandma who blogged, played sudoku and went shopping for earrings. I am sure she enjoyed every moment of her life with a sweet daughter like you and a wonderful family.
May God rest her soul and give you strength to bear the grief.
Take care
Geeta

Do put up those pictures on this blog when you get time.

Oh Susan
I am just so sorry to hear about your mother..
Sending you Karma

Susan, I hope you already have heard the history behind the pictures your lovely Mom had intended to have you post for her. Knowing the stories behind pictures makes them even more precious to us.
I am so thankful that your mom`s memories stayed so alert that she was able to keep telling you about her life experiences. Wish I had asked lots more questions of my Grand Mother and both my parents so I could have learned lots more about their younger lives. Never knew either grandfather or my other grandmother as they passed away long before I was born..
I truly enjoyed all your Mother`s posts and thank you for your help in adding them to her blog for us to read and enjoy.
You were a great Daughter.
Sending love and hugs to help you thru this hard time.

Hi Susan,
This is Nandu from Ranchi. My excitement on recognizing an old friend on a blog site, quickly turned to sadness, reading about the loss of your parents. Words fail me as I try to write a condolence note to you. I reminisce fondly of Ranchi summers in the company of George, Anna, you, and other friends like Rohit, Ingrid and Mark. It also brings back memories of the picnics your mother would arrange, and the evening walks at the airport. I am also reminded of the portable turntable your father brought from one of his trips to Japan. It was indeed a precursor to the Boombox.
From your mother's blog, I am guessing you are settled in Kottayam. My e-mail is nand1b@gmail.com. I'm settled in NJ, US. I eagerly look forward to hearing from you. Warm regards to you, Anna, George, and all your families.

-Nandu
